PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus of high reliability and usability capable of easily and clearly displaying a still image while a motion picture is continuously displayed, if a still image is taken during recording of the motion picture. SOLUTION: A display switch 221 serving as a component of a control unit 200 senses and recognizes a specified still image display triggering. Based on the still image display triggering, it switches a liquid crystal monitor 210 from displaying of a motion picture to a still image. A motion picture is continuously displayed on an EVF209.
