PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring method of manufacture environment contributing to manufacture environmental management and quality management of the magnetic disk drive, capable of verifying in detail a kind of dust generated in a production line of the magnetic disk drive and its generation source. SOLUTION: Monitoring magnetic disk drives 10a-10d having intake port, discharge port and forced ventilation mechanism while forming a same model as a magnetic disk drive to be manufactured, are arranged on predetermined positions around the production line. Atmospheric gas around the production line is introduced to the inside by activating the forced ventilation mechanism while the intake port and the discharge port are opened. The atmospheric gas is introduced for about 24-48 hours while the production line is operated. After that, read/write tests are carried out with respect to this drive. When an error occurs at an error rate of reference value or larger, the magnetic disk and a magnetic head of this drive are disassembled to carry out a detailed analysis. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
