PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an earth and sand measuring apparatus capable of inexpensively and easily measuring earth and sand such as traction sand. SOLUTION: The earth and sand measuring apparatus 10 is provided with a bank sand box 12 having an inlet 14; a funnel 20 housed in the bank sand box 12 in such a way as to receive earth and sand flowing from the inlet 14 of the bank sand box 12 and discharge them; a main frame 30 housed in the bank sand box 12; a tipping bucket 40 provided with a pair of buckets 41 and 42, supported in the bank sand box 12 in such a way as to tip according to the amount of earth and sand flowing into one bucket, and discharging inflow earth and sand when tipped by a prescribed value or more; a stopper 38 for halting the tipping of the tipping bucket 40 so that the other bucket may be positioned at a location capable of receiving the inflow of earth and sand discharged form the funnel 20 when the amount of earth and sand which have been discharged from the funnel 20 and flowed in one bucket of the tipping bucket 40 reaches a prescribed amount or more to tip the tipping bucket 40; and a signal output part 36 for outputting signals indicating the tipping of the tipping bucket 40 when it has tipped.
