PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video recorder for coping with the case that a region being not suitable for VOB recording exists the vicinity of the terminal of a first recording layer when a VOB is written in the first recording layer of a DVD±R and successive a VOB is written in a second recording layer of the same optical disk.

SOLUTION: A dummy VOB is written in the vicinity of the terminating end of an L0 layer. And a plurality of reproduction section information specifying that the dummy VOB and VOBs before and after are separated reproduction sections are generated. Reproduction path information prescribing a reproduction path not including the reproduction section corresponding to the dummy VOB but including the reproduction sections corresponding to the VOBs before and after it is generated and written in the DVD±R.
