PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for tire treads, satisfying both of the gripping properties and the blow resistance and suppressing lowering of stiffness. SOLUTION: The rubber composition for tire treads comprises 100 pts.wt. diene-based rubber, (A) a carbon black having >250 m<SP>2</SP>nitrogen adsorption specific surface area (N<SB>2</SB>SA), and (B) a carbon black having 100-150 m<SP>2</SP>/g nitrogen adsorption specific surface area (N<SB>2</SB>SA), wherein total of compounding amounts of the carbon blacks (A) and (B) is 70-150 pts.wt. and the compounding amounts of the carbon blacks (A) and (B) satisfy the relational expression represented by the formula: 0.1≤[compounding amount of (B)]/[compounding amounts of (A) and (B)]≤0.5.
