PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating apparatus capable of suppressing the damage of a heat keeping means applied on a flexible air supply hose for supplying coating hot air to a movable coating means, thereby suppressing the degradation of heat keeping effect and also suppressing the degradation of the operation efficiency of the movable coating means caused by that the heat keeping means makes resistance against the movement of the movable coating means, and to provide a method for heat-keeping air in the coating apparatus. SOLUTION: In the coating apparatus in which the coating hot air A2 is supplied to the movable coating means 4 through the air supply hose 5 by connecting the flexible air supply hose 5 to the movable coating means 4 to allow the movement of the movable coating means 4 by the flexibility of the air supply hose 5 and the heat keeping means for heat-insulating the hot air A2 for coating by preventing the heat release from the air supply hose 5 is applied on the air supply hose, the heat insulating means is constituted so that the coating hot air A2 is heat-kept by a heat keeping air layer SA formed on the outer periphery of the air supply hose 5 in the heat keeping means.
