CONTENTS REPRODUCING APPARATUS AND CONTENTS REPRODUCING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contents reproducing apparatus capable of applying special reproduction to contents located in an ordinary Web server incompatible with a streaming protocol such as the RTSP.

SOLUTION: The contents reproducing apparatus includes: a next time display image use data area decision section 23 that calculates an area of data required for generating an image displayed next to an image during display in contents on the basis of a list for denoting a position of data required for reproduction in the contents and a data amount at reproduction times of reproduction start possible points and the reproduction start possible points of contents data; a reproduction control section 21 that updates a display image into an image apart by a reproduction time by a product between a reproduction image display update interval and a number n of multiple speeds every passing of the reproduction image display update interval; and a contents data acquisition section 22 that repeats the acquisition of the data in the area calculated by the next time display image use data area decision section 23 from a server during a forward or reverse reproduction at a predetermined speed or over. This apparatus decides itself image data required when the contents are subjected to special reproduction and acquires the data from the server.
