A process of fabricating NIRQ-dot for forming medical molecular image is provided to produce PbSe semiconductor nano-particle, that is, NIRQ-dot with uniform distribution of particle size, which is used for molecular imaging as an imaging agent to derive clear imaging results, by synthesizing PbSe NIRQ-dot and coating it with bio-compatible polymer in emulsion state. The process of forming NIR Q-dot comprises the steps of: (i) synthesizing PbSe NIR Q-dot in an organic solvent; and (ii) coating the synthesized PbSe NIR Q-dot in emulsion phase by using a bio-compatible polymer which is fused in a water solution. The bio-compatible polymer is chitosan or dextran. An imaging process of medical molecule uses semiconductor nano-particles and the produced NIR Q-dot that is coated with the bio-compatible polymer. The coating step is carried out by dissolving chitosan in ethyl acetate, adding PbSe nano-particle thereto; and dispersing the mixture in a sonicator for 5 minutes.
