<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer capable of surely reducing the power consumption of the whole network, its control method, a program, and a storage medium. <P>SOLUTION: This network printer 111, which is connected to host computers 101, 102 and 103 via the network 107, comprises a central processor 112, a storage part 113, and a network part 114, which are connected to one another via an internal bus 115. The network part 114 is connected to the network 107. The host computer 103 displays a massage 104, a permission/nonpermission button 105 and remaining time 106 of message display on its screen. A shutoff checking packet 108 is transmitted to the host computers 101, 102 and 103 every lapse of a predetermined time, and the printer's own power is shut off when a response packet to the effect that the shutoff of the power supply is not permitted is not received from all the host computers. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
