<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a fine magnification process of an image in a unit smaller than one pixel and prevent degradation in image quality as compared with the insertion extraction method in a pixel unit. <P>SOLUTION: A device recording an image on a recording medium based on image information is equipped with a grating type light valve 65 for modulating the light radiated from a light source 63 based on the image information, wherein N-pieces of ribbon pairs composed of a plurality of stationary ribbons and movable ribbons in one pixel are arranged in parallel, and with a CPU 35 which independently drives every one pair of the stationary ribbons and movable ribbons. The CPU 35 executes the insertion extraction control for increasing/decreasing the number of pairs of one pixel of the stationary ribbon and movable ribbon, corresponding to the fine magnification rate. This composition enables performing the fine magnification process of images in a unit smaller than one pixel, and also eliminating the break of thin lines and the occurrence of line width fluctuation or the like as compared with the insertion extraction method in a pixel unit, whereby preventing the degradation in the image quality. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
