PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state imaging device for effectively reducing noise due to the diagonal incident light. SOLUTION: In a light shielding layer 27 for shielding the light beam from the region except for the light receiving surface of a photodiode (PD) 11, a recessed area is formed for each PD11 and a light receiving window 28 is formed at the bottom of the recessed area. On the surface of the recessed area of this light shielding layer 27, a light diffusion layer 29 is provided. The light diffusion layer 29 is provided at the area in the outside of light path of the incident light which is substantially parallel to the light axis L to spread the incident light input diagonally to the light axis L of a micro-lens 33. Here, a light-absorbing layer may also be provided in place of the light spreading layer 29 to the surface of the recessed area of the light shielding layer 27.
