PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more finely and accurately obtain positional information regarding an input device without increasing cost and size.

SOLUTION: Light beam focusing components direct light from the top surface of a touch screen display to one or more image generation means. The image generation means capture one or more images of the top surface of the touch screen display. A processing unit analyzes one or more images to determines the position of an input device on or near the top surface of the touch screen display.
