PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent impairing of merchantability, in an upper surface operating type stove in which a top plate 2 covering the upper surface of a stove body 1 is formed by a glass plate 3 and a sheet metal-made outer frame 4, and a heat source operation knob 10 to be set on the stove body is arranged on the outer frame, by enhancing the rigidity of an outer frame part for arranging the operation knob. SOLUTION: The outer frame 4 is adhered to the glass plate 3 in the lower surface of the outer frame 4 while being superposed on the peripheral upper surface of the glass plate 3. The glass plate 3 includes an extension part 31 extending below the outer frame part 44 for arranging the operation knob 10. A through-hole 32 for inserting an operation shaft 12 for connecting the operation knob 10 is formed in the extension part 31 of the glass plate 3, and a burring hole 45 having a burring part 45a to be fitted to the through-hole 32 is formed in the outer frame part 44 for arranging the operation handle 10.
