PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handrail device for a passenger conveyor structured as having an inner deck, assuring high safety and excellent in the easiness to conduct maintenance. SOLUTION: The handrail device of the passenger conveyor is equipped with handrail panels 3 installed upright on both sides of each footboard 2, skirt guards 6 installed on both sides of each footboard 2 in such an arrangement as securing a minor gap to the footboard 2, and the inner deck 7 covering from the bottom edge of the panel 3 to the top edge of the skirt guard 6, wherein a groove part 13 left open downward is provided consisting of the inner deck bottom edge 7a and a clip 10 fixed to the reverse surface of the inner deck bottom edge 7a, and is inserted to the top edge of the skirt guard 6, whereby the inner deck 7 is secured to the body of the conveyor by the inner deck top edge 7b on the panel 3 side.
