摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for deciding an abnormality of a machining portion of a workpiece for removing an erroneous detection of a product as a defective one due to dust such as cut chip adhering to a grinding part and abrasive grain of a grinding tool, etc., and removing only a truely defective product from a production line by exactly deciding the grinding part without causing lowering of a working ratio. SOLUTION: The workpiece is rotated, a stylus 30 mounted at a distal end of an in-process gage arm 4 is brought into contact with the machining portion of the workpiece, and a diameter dimension of the machining portion is measured from an output value outputted from the stylus 30. When the output value exceeds a threshold value when judging the value as an abnormal value, the measurement is performed again at least once, while maintaining a state of the stylus 30 brought into contact with the machining portion. By bringing the stylus 30 into contact with the machining portion, adhering dust is moved from a detecting range, and the erroneous detection caused by adhering of dust is eliminated.
