PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved method for controlling luminance and a color position of a lighting system emitting multi-color light, and to provide the lighting system emitting the multi-color light allowing control with improved luminance and the color position. SOLUTION: This is a method for controlling the luminance and the color position of the lighting system. The lighting system emits the multi-color light containing light of at least two light channels with different colors. Each light channel is controlled by one modified pulse-width-modulation signal (modified PWM signal). Each modified PWM signal is generated from modulation of one color pulse-width-modulation signal (color PWM signal) by a strength pulse-width-modulation signal (strength PWM signal).
