PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contents alteration countermeasure system which certainly detects contents alteration from exterior or interior at a time of contents browsing in a Web server by a simple configuration, easily offer contents not altered instead of the altered contents, and certainly prevents alteration. SOLUTION: In the contents alteration countermeasure system, an adapter 1a of a WWW server 1 compares a hash value calculated from contents for a contents browsing request from a client PC 10 and a hash value of a certificate decoded by a public key, and detects contents alteration. If the contents are altered, contents of a countermeasure DB (database) 5 are copied in a recovery area 2c, and the hash value is calculated and compared with the hash value of the certificate decoded by the public key to detect the alteration.
