PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To instantly detect media supply abnormality at abnormality occurrence time in an image forming device.

SOLUTION: A surface image of sheet-like media is optically acquired as an image signal, and this image signal is captured as a positional change in the sheet-like media, and when its positional change satisfies a predetermined condition, it is determined that the media supply abnormality is caused.
