PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester resin composition highly uniformly dispersed, particularly having high strength and heat resistance and also having dimensional stability. SOLUTION: The organic substance-modified layered silicate comprises at least cation of a compound represented by general formula (1) and/or a compound represented by general formula (2) (wherein R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>are each independently an alkyl group or an aryl group; R<SP>3</SP>, R<SP>4</SP>and R<SP>5</SP>are each independently a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group or an aryl group; A is a divalent aliphatic linking group; X<SP>-</SP>is an anion) in the interlayer of a swellable layered silicate.
