<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a busy signal of extremely long width is returned to a host 100 to cause time out, when data is transmitted from the host 100 to a memory card 110, in case that data writing processing to a flash memory 111 and copying processing for ensuring a free block, in which data are already deleted, are executed in parallel. <P>SOLUTION: When data is transmitted from a host 100 to a buffer memory 114 in parallel with copying processing, busy extension setting signals 201 are outputted from a card controller 113 to a host I/F 115 when or just before the buffer memory 114 receives the data to be written to a flash memory 111 after copying processing.
