In a control lever device for a cycle vehicle comprising a pair of levers 6 pivotally mounted on a collar 1 secured to the cycle frame and adjustably gripped between washers 5, 7 by means of wing nuts 9 bearing upon domed washers 8, the collar 1, the levers 6, the domed washers 8 and the wing nuts 9 are formed from a synthetic plastic material such as a homopolymer acetal resin which may be reinforced by metallic inserts. The collar 1 is clamped around a frame tube T by a clamping bolt 2 and is formed with cylindrical bosses 1<6> bored to accommodate threaded pins 4 having striated heads 4<1> which are received in grooves 1<5> and engage the frame tube T to prevent rotation of the collar. Each lever 6 is formed with an aperture 6<2> for mounting on the boss 1<6> and with a recess 6<3> for the washer 5. Each washer 7 is secured against rotation by a radial finger 7<1> engaging a slot 1<9> in a lug 1<8> on the collar 1. The wing nuts 9 include metal nuts 10 incorporated in the plastic material during moulding. Flexible cables C coupled to a derailleur gear or a brake pan through hollow screws 13 secured in lugs 1<10> on the collar 1 and are received in grooves 6<4> formed in the levers 6 and terminating in apertures 6<6> for the cable ends. The collar may carry only a single lever device similar to those described. |
