PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum alloy capable of preventing pitting corrosion and general corrosion even when not worked into a clad plate and excellent in moldability and workability and to provide a packaging material and an electric or electronic structural member using the aluminum alloy. SOLUTION: The aluminum alloy comprises 0.1 to 6 mass% manganese, 0.001 to 0.02 mass% iron, 0.0005 to 0.02 mass% silicon, and 0.0001 to 0.03 mass% copper, with the balance comprising aluminum and unavoidable impurities.
