PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal dish capable of sufficiently reducing the amount of liquid crystal wasted during suction by a liquid crystal device. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal dish 1 has walls 4 and a bottom 5 for pooling liquid crystal 3 to be sucked in a liquid crystal panel 2. The bottom 5 has a thin and long top surface 51, and the walls 4 surround the top surface 51 to the entire periphery; and the top surface 51 is lower than any of upper ends of the walls 4 and on the bottom 5, grooves 52 which extend along the length of the top surface 51 are formed on respective long edge sides of the top surface 51 while including the walls 4 as flanks. The liquid crystal dish 1 has a portion (center surface 51a) where the grooves 52 are not formed on the top surface 51 above a portion (bottom surface 52a) where the grooves are formed, so the amount of liquid crystal which should be pooled can sufficiently be reduced. Further, the liquid crystal 3 hardly overflows because of the presence of grooves 52. Consequently, the amount of liquid crystal 3 which is wasted can sufficiently be reduced.
