PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connecting method of a linear motor by which connecting work of a coil wire to a lead wire is easily performed, contact of a slackened portion with an output shaft caused by the connecting work is prevented, a short circuit caused when a thermal shrinkage tube is removed is prevented, and a guide holder is easily mounted on a housing. SOLUTION: In the connecting method of the linear motor which includes guides 4, 5 supporting the output shaft 2, and a motor 3 driving the output shaft 2, the coil wire 3c is connected with the lead wire 8 outside the housing 1, and the slackened portion caused by the connecting work is held in a gap between an outer periphery of a sleeve 11 for connection and an inner face of the housing 1. The sleeve 11 for connection is of a cylindrical shape, in which its inside diameter is larger than an outside diameter of a motor magnet 3a, while its outside diameter is constituted so that the gap between the diameter and the inner face of the housing 1 may be larger than a diameter of the lead wire 8, and projections 11a, 11b may be provided on a circumference of both ends.
