A crosslinked polymer obtained by polymerization with one or more crosslinking monomers and the subsequent bonding of a phthalocyanine skeleton to the resultant polymer preferably by covalent bonding. The degree of crosslinking is 1% or higher. When this crosslinked polymer is used as an adsorbent, a polycyclic organic substance coexistent in a solution can be selectively adsorbed, desorbed, or separated. The crosslinked polymer having phthalocyanine bonded thereto not only has the excellent ability to adsorb polycyclic organic substances but has the excellent ability to enable the adsorbed polycyclic organic substances to be desorbed. Therefore, the crosslinked polymer is useful especially for the selective adsorption, desorption/concentration, or separation of a polycyclic organic substance, e.g., a mutagen, present in a trace amount in, e.g., an environment, food, table luxury, or biosample.
