PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic card type locking device having impact unlocking preventive and breaking preventive functions safe with reliable operation by providing double cores of a fixed core and a sliding core to add a magnetic reading preventive function. SOLUTION: Ball plungers 13 are installed on a surface plate 11 and arranged to get into touch with both side faces of a shielding plate 14, and the fixed core and sliding core 17 are provided with a plurality of holes for storing two kinds of long and short locking magnet pins 28. The locking magnet pins 28 move within the holes of the fixed core and sliding core 17 by the insertion of a magnetic card key 27, and the contact faces of the long and short locking magnet pins 28 coincide with the contact faces of both cores to release the locking function of the magnet pins 28. The shielding plate 14 then descends together with the sliding core 17, and the ball plungers 13 get into bent cutout parts of the shielding plate 14 to hold the shielding plate 14.
