A fan motor of a drum-type drying and washing machine is provided to minimize the short-danger of the motor driving part by covering the upper part of the motor housing with the housing cover and precluding the moisture from being infiltrated in the motor housing. A fan motor(90) of a drum-type drying and washing machine comprises: a motor housing(94) whose upper part is opened, and internally installed with a motor driving part for driving the blowing fan; and a housing cover(96) projected with a fixing part(100) for fixing the upper part of the motor housing from the outside to cover the whole upper surface of the motor housing in order to prevent the moisture from being infiltrated in the motor housing. The motor housing contains a cylindrical part(94a) where the motor driving part is internally placed, and a bent part(94b) bent toward the outside along with an upper peripheral part of the cylindrical part.
