<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous burner equipped with a flame barrier. <P>SOLUTION: This porous burner has a mixing space for premixing a reductant and an oxidant, and an adjacent combustion space filled with a porous material. The flame barrier is arranged between the mixing space and the combustion space. The flame barrier is formed of the porous material having a material porosity less than 60%, in the present invention. The material has at least 1300kg/m<SP>3</SP>of density.
