PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift gear device for a vehicle scarcely causing the foot to interfere with a rod. SOLUTION: The shift gear device 67 for the vehicle is provided with a pair of pivot supports 39 to support a pivot shaft 38 of a swing arm on either side of a main pipe 32 behind a transmission 15, a transmission shaft 72 for gear shift in the transmission 15, and a spindle 85 of a step 65 for a drive and a gear shift pedal 65 behind the pivot support 39. The gear shift pedal 65 and the transmission shaft 72 are connected via a rod. A bell crank 78 is arranged lower than the step 61 for the driver. The rod is comprised of the first rod 77 to connect the gear shift pedal 65 and the bell crank 78, and a second rod 81 to connect the bell crank 78 and the transmission shaft 72 side.
