PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a civil engineering machine for slopes, which can easily and smoothly carry out lateral motion, is reduced in size and weight, and contributes to cost reduction. SOLUTION: The civil engineering machine is operable by a remote controller mainly in order to protect a sharp-inclined slope, and formed of a traveling body 20 for self-advancing on the slope, an operating stand 10 rotatably arranged immediately above the traveling body, and a disk body 30 arranged between the traveling body and the operating stand 10 so as to be in parallel with the operating stand 10. Then, the machine has a circumferentially moving body 40 arranged on a circumferential edge of the disk body 30, for moving along the circumferential edge, and a drum body 50 horizontally rotatable with respect to the circumferentially moving body 40. The drum body 50 has a wire 51 wound thereon the number of turns that cannot cause sliding of the wire 51, and one end of the wire 51 is fixed to a first anchor F driven at a high location of the slope while the other end of the same is fixed to a second anchor S driven at a location located in a lateral direction of the first anchor F.
