PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a full erase head which can be made low-cost and be mass-produced, and a method of manufacturing a front core of the same. SOLUTION: The front core of the full erase head provided with a magnetic gap on a medium slide face thereof to be brought into contact with a magnetic recording medium is formed as follows; 30 to 70 wt.% glass beads are mixed with a base agent of a two-liquid thermosetting resin and are agitated, and this mixture of the two-liquid thermosetting resin and glass beads are filled between a pair of core substrates facing each other with a gap larger than a regular magnetic gap width between them, and the mixture filled between the pair of core substrates is hardened by heating under application of a prescribed pressure, to form a magnetic gap. The magnetic gap width is stipuleted by a relation between a particle size of the glass beads and the pressure applied in the heating step. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
