The method for dissecting the sigmoid mesocolon in resection due to diverticulosis comprises the laparotomy, the insertion of the sigmoid colon into the operation wound, the dissection of the parietal peritoneum along the line of the embryonic fixation to the sigmoid mesocolon, the separation of the sigmoid arteries and their dissection, the resection of the sigmoid colon, the generation of the colonoanastomosis, and the layer-by-layer sewing of the peritoneal cavity. Below the tissue of the wall of colon, the sigmoid artery is caught by the branches of the clamp of the apparatus for the biological welding of the tissues ("High frequency electric coagulator EK-300M1"). The artery is treated by the welding pulse generating the first welding suture. Then proximally the second welding suture is applied to the sigmoid artery. The sigmoid artery is dissected between two sutures. In such a way, all the arteries supplying the blood to the resected segment of the sigmoid colon are treated.
