<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rationally allow external noises to escape even if a control unit and a hot water storage means are only a short distance apart and adjacent to each other, thereby preventing the noises from affecting the microcomputer of the control unit or the like. <P>SOLUTION: The water heater includes a control unit 1; a microcomputer 2; a hot water heating means 3; a hot water heating means shell 4; a hot water storage means 5; a first connection means 7; a removable shield means 8; and a second connection means 9. The external noises entering from a power supply means 6 are allowed to escape from the control unit 1 through a path including the shield means 8, hot water in the hot water storage means 5, and the hot water heating means shell 4 so as to prevent the external noises from passing around the microcomputer 2. This also enables operations to be carried out during production of the control unit 1 without connecting the shield means 8 that obstructs the process of flow soldering.
