<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface light source device which uses as an optical reflecting plate a synthetic resin foam body that is superior in processability and shape retentivity, and can have high reflectance with a thin shape, by giving diffusion effect to this reflecting plate, as well as improving the unevenness in luminance. <P>SOLUTION: The surface light source device is provided with a linear light source and an optical reflecting plate, and as optical reflecting plate, the optical reflecting plate 10 made of synthetic resin consisting of white sheet containing air bubbles inside is used, in which the air bubbles 12 contained inside are of nearly elliptical shape, when viewed in cross-section of X-Y plane (the reflecting surface of light of the optical reflecting plate). Furthermore, the linear light source 14 is installed so that its longitudinal direction Q is parallel with the short-diameter direction Y in the cross-section of the X-Y plane of the air bubbles in the optical reflecting plate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
