<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst reducing the poisoning of intermediate products such as CO and/or CHO in a catalyst for a fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: The catalyst for a fuel cell contains platinum, ruthenium and rhodium. When a ratio of the number of atoms of the platinum, the ruthenium and the rhodium is represented by x:y:z, a max. value among the x, y, z is W, and the sum of the remaining two is S, poisoning of intermediate products can be reduced and a high activated catalyst for a fuel cell can be obtained by using a catalyst with a ratio W/S of the W to S of less than 2.0, and with x bigger than y. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
