PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power tool with a cutter having a device for disenabling the changing operation of the cutter or changing of the direction of the cutter during moving of the cutter. SOLUTION: The power tool 1 with the cutter has a cover 4 slidably mounted to a housing 3, cutters 2a, 2b held to the housing 3 by the cover 4, and an operation switch 5 turning on and off the power of a motor 6. A lock button 8 which releasably holds the position of the cover 4 to the housing 3 is provided between the housing and the cover 4 in such a state that the mounting parts of the cutters 2a, 2b are covered. A release prevention device 9 preventing the lock button 8 from being made in an unlocked state in the ON state of the operation switch 5 is provided between the lock button 8 and the operation switch 5.
