A system and a method for offering credit information using file encryption are provided to strengthen security, increase convenience for easily implementing/expanding the system according to a situation, and save data transfer time by transferring data through an FTP(File Transfer Protocol) after compressing the data. A credit information providing server(110) compresses and encrypts a credit information data file including the credit information, and transfers the compressed/encrypted file through the FTP. A client(210) obtains the credit information by decrypting and decompressing the credit information data file received from the credit information providing server. In case that abnormal connection termination is generated during transfer of the credit information data file between the credit information providing server and the client, a succeeded download function is performed.
