PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an audio broadcast system which can offer audio broadcast to a sound output unit having a sound source moving freely, and can minimize congestion even in the case of broadcast requiring a large band. SOLUTION: A broadcast system manager 1 has a location information memory 12 for managing a sound source unit 4 and a sound output unit 5 located in each zone in correspondence with a plurality of access points 3. When audio data is transmitted to an arbitrary sound output unit 5, the sound source unit 4 inquires the broadcast system manager 1 for the access point of a zone where the destination sound output unit is located and ad hoc mode is employed in communication with a sound output unit located in a zone of the same access point 3 as that of the sound source unit 4.
