PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus to which control with respect to number of image outputs and information required for replacement and maintenance is simply provided from the outside so as to enhance the convenience of sales, rental, and maintenance of the imaging apparatus. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: an optical unit 170 for acquiring an image; an imaging unit 174 for picking up the image acquired by the optical unit 170 as image data through photoelectric conversion; an image recording section 178 for storing the image data picked up by the imaging unit 174; and a number information storage section 182 for storing number identification information to identify number of images outputted from the image recording section 178 to the outside.
