PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thumbtack, a securing force of which can be ensured while securing a suspension string such as for a calendar lest the string might move longitudinally, when the string is secured using the thumbtack. SOLUTION: The thumbtack with a bar-like knob formed on the base end side of a needle, has an insertion part which can insert/secure the suspension string on the side surface of the knob part. Under this structure, the needle of the thumbtack can be secured by inserting the needle upto its root while securing the string by inserting/securing the string into the insertion part so as not to allow longitudinal movement of the string.
