PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for regenerating an existing pipe in which a cylindrical new pipe having a diameter slightly smaller than that of the existing pipe is inserted into and fixed to the existing pipe having a rectangular shape in cross section and formed of an old box culvert embedded in the ground. SOLUTION: A lift preventing device which prevents the new pipe from being lifted by charging a filler material is provided at the top of the new pipe in a perpendicularly upward direction, which is on a vertical line passing the center of the new pipe. Swing preventing devices which prevent the new pipe from being swung in right and left directions by charging the filler material are provided at positions on right and left sides of the new pipe in horizontally outward directions, which are on a horizontal line passing the substantially central part of the new pipe. After the new pipe is inserted into the box culvert and moved to a predetermined position, the lift preventing device is protruded upward to impart a reaction force to the existing pipe, and a lift limit position of the new pipe is set. The swing preventing devices are protruded horizontally to impart the reaction force to the existing pipe, and the positioning of the new pipe in the right and left directions is performed. After that, the filler material is charged into a gap between the existing pipe and the new pipe inserted into the existing pipe so that the new pipe may be fixed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
