The arrangement in a refrigerating plant with more than one screw-type compressors has each compressor (11) connected by its economizer connection (7) to an intermediate pressure vessel (3), and a controllable regulating unit is installed between each intermediate pressure vessel and each economizer connection of each compressor. The controllable regulating unit for the increasing or decreasing of the throughflow rate in dependence upon operating parameters of the refrigerating plant is connected by means of a control system (12) installed in the plant. An independent claim is included for a method for increasing or decreasing the refrigerating capacity of a refrigerating plant.
