PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a theophylline sustained-release particulate formulation. SOLUTION: The method comprises forming nucleus particles by spraying a binder on theophylline by a gas suspension method to coat and granulate and spraying a solution containing a water-insoluble polymer, e.g. ethylcellulose, and a lubricant by the same suspension method to coat and granulate in order to manufacture efficiently and conveniently a theophylline-containing particulate formulation having sustained-release properties.
