PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a full-toroidal continuously variable transmission having a smaller size and good response during shifting operation. SOLUTION: When a solenoid proportional pressure reducing valve (a solenoid proportional direction control valve) 29 is changed over into the condition of discharging operating oil from a second oil chamber 24, as shown in Fig.2, operating oil from a hydraulic pump 25 is supplied to a first oil chamber 23 via a supply passage 27, an inside oil path in the solenoid proportional pressure reducing valve 29 and a first oil flow path 30, in sequence, while operating oil to be discharged from the second oil chamber 24 is supplied to the first oil chamber 23 via a second oil flow path 31, the inside oil path in the solenoid proportional pressure reducing valve 29, a discharge passage 28, (a connection point 28a), a communication passage 32 through a check valve 33, (a connection point 27a), the supply passage 27, the inside oil path in the solenoid proportional pressure reducing valve 29, and the first oil flow path 30, in sequence.
