PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assure the reliability of a liquid discharge operation by a discharge head by preventing an adverse influence by the exposure of the liquid held in a liquid container of a liquid discharge head cartridge under storage. SOLUTION: A liquid discharge head cartridge includes an ink shut-off member 106 which shuts off the supply of an ink to a recording head 109 provided on the way of an ink feeding route. The ink held in the ink container 102 does not exist in the section of an ink passage from the ink shut-off member 106 to the recording head 109 in the shut-off state by the ink shut-off member 106.
