PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide "an audio signal level controller and a level control method" that suppress a rise in temperature while maintaining a feeling of sound volume when an amplifier output signal is used in a distorted state and the temperature in a speaker box rises above set temperature. SOLUTION: The temperature in the speaker box is detected and when the temperature in the speaker box rises above the set temperature, it is judged whether an audio signal to be inputted to a speaker is distorted.The level of the audio signal to be inputted to the speaker is lowered in the distorted state when the audio signal is judged to be distorted.
