PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid delivery apparatus and a delivery method of liquid which enable the presence or absence of liquid-mixture of nozzles with different solution to be certainly detected in direct by detecting the presence or absence, positions and kind of the liquid which has been adhered to the faces a simple composition while enabling the operation of retrieving, wiping, changing of nozzle and coping with another liquid-mixture to be suitably performed based on the information. SOLUTION: The liquid delivery apparatus comprises a recording head for holding liquid-mixture distinction materials which are different for every liquid of two or more kinds, a retrieval means for retrieving the recording head, an observation means for observing the recording head from the face side, and a liquid-mixture distinction means for judging whether the liquids of individual nozzles in the recording head are mixed.
