Method and apparatus for calculating and displaying an optimal route between at least three locations

A method for generating and displaying and optimised route between a starting location and at least two destinations, and apparatus for carrying out the method are disclosed. A user enters the details of the locations. These are then converted into geographic data and an optimised route between the start location and destinations is calculated. The route is calculated so that the destinations are visited in an optimal order. A series of images are generated to show the calculated route, with each image clearly showing a section of the route.
