<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium ion secondary battery that is excellent in discharge performance under a large current and that resists reduction in capacity associated with a charge/discharge cycle life, and to provide its manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: In the lithium ion secondary battery, a mixture of a positive electrode active material, a conducting agent and a binder has an electrical resistivity of 0.1 to 1 Ωcm, and the electric capacity per cuboid is 10 to 50 mAh, where the bottom surface of the cuboid is assumed to be a square of 1 cm<SP>2</SP>of each of the positive and negative electrodes and the height thereof is assumed to be the thickness of each of the positive and negative electrodes. A material containing graphite powder, hardly-graphitizable carbon and fibrous powder that are held in voids of a porous metal structure and having undergone sintering at 600°C to 1000°C in an inert gas atmosphere is used as the negative electrode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
