PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice cooker including a heating means for improving the taste of cooked rice stored for a long time by a simple means and having less environmental load. SOLUTION: The rice cooker has a pot, a pot-heating means for heating the pot, a boiling detection means for detecting the boiling of an object to be cooked, a lid for covering the top opening of the pot, and a steaming container set in the lid. The steaming container has a bottomed cylindrical shape and a plurality of holes at least at the bottom, and includes steaming container lid bodies closing the top and bottom. The rice cooker includes a steaming course to attach water changed from steam on the surface of cooked rice in a cooked rice-heating process. The attached water hydrolyzes the cooked rice again from beta starch to alpha starch to reproduce steaming rice. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
